SOLD $150 To various people and cultures the number 13 represents bad luck or good luck. Those of us who are lucky are able to come together with families and friends to enjoy a celebratory feast of food during this holiday season. We should remember those who are down on their luck at this time of year. We have symbolically set our table to overflowing to remind us all to share food and friendship with others in need, in any way we can. The gingerbread people represent family, friends, neighbours, and community. December 13 is a special day in Sweden as Swedes honour the legend of Sankta Lucia who brings faith, hope, and a reason to believe in good things to come. Lucia and her attendants serve coffee, Lussekatter (Lucia buns), and cookies while singing traditional Swedish Lucia songs.
