06 FLAG 2012

“Daily Flag 6” by Louisa, Steve, Leo, Orson and Simon at 21 Leuty Ave. 30×40”. Acrylic paint, hot glued materials and miniature 3-dimensional Christmas wreath on primed heavy weight canvas. SOLD $45 Follow the yellow brick road home and tally up the fence planks on your way in to a hearty welcome. The boys in this flagmaking family came up with the brilliant idea of using the tally mark counting system to interpret the number six as white picket fence boards in this warm and charming flag creation. Tally marks are one of the oldest forms of counting, with etchings found in stone thought to be some 40,000 years old, but even in these times dominated by technology, they are still useful today. You could use them to tally up the number of holiday parties to attend, family get togethers to plan, gifts left to buy, greeting cards to send, and even to tally up the pounds of food and number of donations still needed to support Daily Bread Food Bank in their 2012 Holiday Drive. Tally-up and tally-ho everyone!
