Daily Flag 3 on Wednesday, December 3 at 26 Leuty by The Family at 26. 36″x36″ A gazillion buttons machine-sewn on heavy weight canvas. Flag 3 is based on the Ishihara Color Test, first created in 1917, and still widely used to detect colour vision deficiencies. Colour “blindness” is a misnomer — colour blind people can see colours, but cannot make out the difference between some sets of complementary colours. The flagmakers chose to interpret and represent this test in their flag because it can be difficult to see hunger in our city even when it is all around us, just as it is difficult for some people to distinguish between colours.
